This is possible due to the great teamwork with many drive manufacturers. AS-i 3.0 CIP Safety over Sercos Gateway (BWU3160), for example, acts as a safety PLC for drives from Bosch Rexroth – with the help of CIP Safety over Sercos. AS-i 3.0 Safety over EtherCAT Gateway (BWU3418) can safely monitor and control drives that communicate over FSoE. At the same time advantages of AS-i and AS-i Safety can be exploited on the lowest field level. Both Gateways are able to do more than CIP Safety over Sercos or Safety over EtherCAT. They also offer the integrated Safe Link technology of Bihl+Wiedemann. Safe Link means that the safety monitors safely exchange data even without a safety controller.
