What is EtherNet/IP?
EtherNet/IP (Ethernet Industrial Protocol) is an open, CIP-based fieldbus standard developed by Rockwell Automation and ODVA (Open DeviceNet Vendor Association). The standard is primarily used in automation technology. It is employed in various industries to control and monitor production processes. EtherNet/IP allows devices from different manufacturers to communicate with each other without the need for special interface adaptations.
What is Modbus TCP?
Modbus TCP is an open fieldbus standard for industrial communication via Ethernet. The widely used standard is mainly used in automation technology and enables devices from different manufacturers to communicate without any special interface adaptations. Modbus TCP is available in different operating modes for data exchange via serial interfaces. The operating modes supported are RTU, ASCII, and TCP. Modbus was originally developed by the company Gould-Modicon.

EtherNet/IP + Modbus/TCP ASi Gateways
EtherNet/IP + Modbus/TCP ASi gateways in stainless steel provide an interface for an EtherNet/IP + Modbus/TCP fieldbus. The certified ASi Gateways are available in different versions with IP20 protection class, e.g., with integrated decoupling, OPC UA interface and integrated web server for easy diagnostics and maintenance.

Safety, EtherNet/IP + Modbus/TCP ASi Gateways
The certified ASi gateways with integrated safety monitor are available in different versions with protection class IP20. All gateways feature the Safe Link technology, which makes it possible to connect different system components easily and flexibly. Some product variants offer integrated CIP Safety communication for easy integration of the safe signals into the safe Rockwell PLC.

GE Digital Achilles® Robustness Test (Level 1 and 2, Version No. 3.18)
Ethernet fieldbus interface (PROFINET, EtherNet/IP) and Ethernet diagnostic interface of the ASi-5/ASi-3 gateways are submitted to strict robustness testing via the Achilles Test Software to ensure robustness against vulnerabilities to cyber attacks. The field update capabilities of the gateway enable continuous firmware and security updates to continuously improve the functionality and robustness of the device.
EtherNet/IP Master Simulator
EtherNet/IP Master Simulator software is a simple, universal tool for the exchange of data with EtherNet devices of almost all manufacturers.
EtherNet/IP Master Simulators allow data exchange with many EtherNet/IP devices even without an EtherNet/IP Master. They also support the use of EDS files and allow specific configuration entries to start data exchange with EtherNet/IP devices. Identification, renaming, and address assignment of EtherNet/IP devices is also possible.
