Efficient grinding machine construction with AS-Interface
How can AS-Interface increase efficiency in machine manufacturing? Alfred Schütte GmbH knows the answer. This long-established company, based in Cologne (Germany) develops and produces grinding solutions for the global market – and has been relying on ASi solutions from Bihl+Wiedemann for over 25 years. Today, the entire decentralized periphery of their grinding machines is efficiently connected via AS-Interface (ASi).
Since the ASi technology is control system-independent, Schütte can also plan and build the machines much more efficiently, without being tied to either a NUM or Siemens control system: the corresponding ASi Safety Gateway in the control cabinet is the only thing that determines the connection to the control system. For convenient integration of IO-Link sensors, which enable advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance, Schütte relies on ASi-5.
